D-Day Veterans - The Price of Peace

75 years after the the largest amphibious invasion in history, the few remaining American veterans of the D-Day landings can still recall the horrific invasion that ultimately led to the liberation of Europe from Nazi occupation and the end of World War II. More than 156,000 troops were launched by sea and air on June 6th 1944, those alive today are still haunted. 75 years later it’s impossible to imagine the horror of that day, the personal memories of soldiers' sacrifices and the emotional cost of surviving engraved on their faces, the price of peace.

"We will not learn how to live together in peace by killing each others children".

39th American President Jimmy Carter
